You do not have to choose unlimited by default. With Hypr, you can select a defined allowance and duration around your own travel habits. That gives you a straightforward way to compare the cost of the connectivity you actually want.
Here is a Japan example for a seven-day trip. This is Hypr's own comparison, based on published offers rather than independent speed testing. The fixed-data and unlimited products have different allowances; check those differences before choosing.
Japan eSIM offers for seven days
The selected Hypr fixed-data option has a lower upfront price than the unlimited offers shown. If 5GB covers your trip, it is an option worth considering. These allowances are not equivalent.
| Provider | Allowance | Validity | Price (USD) | Plan notes and source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hypr eSIM | 5GB total | 7 days | US$12.50 | Fixed allowance; confirm network, hotspot and activation terms. View Hypr plans |
| Holafly | Unlimited | 7 days | US$27.50 | Japan page lists 1GB/day sharing; fair-use speed restrictions may apply. Official Japan offer |
This is a fixed-data versus unlimited comparison, not a like-for-like savings claim. Offers can change; confirm the final price, currency, restrictions and any applicable promotions at checkout.

Put your trip budget in control
Start with your phone's recent data usage and the activities you expect abroad. If a fixed allowance fits your plans, compare its full-trip cost with an unlimited option. If video, uploads or work will dominate the trip, compare larger allowances and the applicable fair-use conditions.
Hypr's daily and total-data options let you make that choice explicitly. Check the selected plan's terms rather than treating either label as a guarantee of uninterrupted high-speed service.
Sharing data? Check the hotspot allowance
A phone's data allowance and the amount it may share with other devices are separate considerations. Confirm the chosen Hypr plan permits tethering before relying on it for a laptop or family tablet. The competitor's published Japan sharing allowance is shown in the table.
A direct route from choice to checkout
Browse Hypr on the website, open the embedded plan selector and compare durations and allowances without installing a shopping app. Sign in with a confirmed email to complete checkout. Before installing, check your exact phone model, carrier-lock status and the activation instructions for your order.
Choose the plan you can use with confidence
Choose a Hypr option when its stated allowance, duration and final price meet your requirements. Check coverage for your itinerary and read the applicable refund policy before paying. Buying a suitable plan is more useful than choosing solely by the word unlimited or a headline starting price.
